Smoke and Mirrors

There was press release in a local media a few days ago, with the title, "Demings calls on Jacobs to return all tainted campaign donations." This was a front page release and the most important news of the morning.

Obviously, candidate for Orange County Mayor, Val Demings questioned the manner which, County Mayor, Teresa Jacobs received some campaign donations.

From the press release: "Val Demings is calling on Mayor Jacobs to disclose all donations bundled by Jim Palmer and stop using the relationship to recruit donors to her campaign. His continued position

on her fundraising committee shows that Teresa Jacobs is not serious about cutting ties to the embroiled developer."

Ms. Demings is concerned about Jacobs not being serious. Really, Val. Are You Serious?

So, when I read the press release, I wondered if this is the most pressing situation that Val Demings is concerned about in her campaign? Is the thought of Teresa Jacobs receiving, 'tainted donations' the biggest issue that Demings has to work with? Is this the number one issue on her agenda, to make Teresa stop receiving bundled donations from Jim Palmer?

I am sure that Val's got a lot more to think about than Teresa's donations. There is that whole county management thing. You know things like, jobs, education, minimum pay, tearing down monuments.

Maybe Val Demings will issue weekly press releases to cover some of these issues that actually concerns the residents in beautiful, safe, Orange County Florida. Here are a few press release ideas that she might be able to use.
