Ain't NoBody Got Time Fo 'Dat!

Orlando Sentinelby Lawrence A. Robinson
So the headline in the Orlando Sentinel -Sunday Early Edition reads; Records: Candidate voted before rights were restored. This is an article written by Mark Schlueb-staff writer. Mark did a lot of research to dig this one up, a decade old crime that is years past the statute of limitations. Mark Schlueb-staff writer, wrote over 800 words about this ten year old out of date crime. The Orlando Sentinel actually bought into this foolishness and put it on the front page of their Easter "Sunday Early Edition." This have got to be very important to the people, this ten year old thingy.

I didn't see a side note about the FDLE making the Lynum investigation a 'Formal Investigation' last week. Maybe we will have to wait ten years for Mark and the Sentinel to catch up to that one.

Mark Schlueb and the Orlando Sentinel used a quarter page of paper and a lot of ink on the printed version to say what could have been said in three or four sentences. It is very curious to me that the Orlando Sentinel would print something so trivial, so out of date. Mark broke plenty of journalist rules in this article, almost like he wanted to hide the truth from the readers.

Every high school journalist student knows that you put the most important information in the first paragraph. Mark scribbled over 700 words and quite a few paragraphs before he mentioned that,

"Orange County Supervisor of Elections Bill Cowles found nothing in his office's records to indicate Hill's voter registration application raised any red flags in 2004."

Which means that the County Supervisor of Election saw nothing wrong with Regina's voting ten years ago. So Orlando Sentinel and staff writer Mark Schlueb dug and dug like a dog looking for a misplaced bone, to find something to write for the Special Easter Sunday Early Edition.

Of course the very first sentence that Mark wrote is a misrepresentation of the truth. He said there were 21 arrest, which is not true. Then he waits till the end to try and square it all up.

Orlando Sentinel and Mark should be ashamed of themselves for slanting this ten year old information. Usually the Black community is just ignored by the Orlando Sentinel, except in times like these when they want to skew the facts. They know that this article is bogus. So they put some truth way down at the bottom where most people won't read it.

Most busy people read the first few paragraphs and move on to the next article because you know, who wants to read 800 words that says nothing?  Ain't NoBody Got Time Fo' Dat!
