DAISY VOTES FOR A RAISE ???

"What have YOU done for us, lately--OR at any time?"

This writer would prefer to believe Commissioner Lynum to be a very decent person in private life but knowledge is limited only to public office, through public activities like many of her constituents. The latter is what I will attempt to address from collective community comments by district members.

It's Hard Being Black and the President of the United States

Obama WorriedMany in the media are claiming that the past week for the president was one of his longest and hardest. President Obama has always been considered a Teflon president, and he was able to slide out of problems. But the Syria challenge and airstrikes has kept the president and his administration in a paralyzing entanglement that has slowed his domestic agenda and policies.

President Obama may argue that his partnership with Russia was always on the table, and by moving slowly with his decision making on airstrikes, the agreement between the two countries was finalized.

Scott Turns from Slick Businessman to Secretive Politician

RickScott1Last week there was a three day education summit called by Governor Scott, and he failed to show up for the event. I don’t know the reason his schedule could not fit two hours to explain the significance of the summit, but he was a no-show. I could surmise from his behavior that the summit was not important to him, or maybe he does not care, because he is going to do what he wants to do.

Governor Scott Restarts Voter Purge in Florida

VoterPurgeScottGovernor Scott is planning a new effort to fix Florida’s voter rolls, even though they don’t appear to be broken. Republican governors and legislatures have decided to implement new voter restrictions aimed at minorities, independents, and Democrats. Once the Supreme Court rejected parts of the Voter Rights Acts, it opened new opportunities for states to limit voting.

Elections have consequences.

We have heard this before but never before, at least not in my lifetime, has the reality of this sage warning been more glaring. Our country, the good, old U.S. of A is being held hostage in plain sight of The People, a constantly-attempted coup working against the will of the electorate. Democracy has been turned on its head by a malcontented, unpatriotic few doing all they can to hijack the country.
