Out Political Issues are Wearing Me OUT!!

.....I was SUPER Busy yesterday. At days end I was exhausted with a million thoughts still racing. Our political issues are broad and wide. Resolutions are in sight, we are marching, rallying, voicing our concerns - yet no change. Our most valued ammunition is to show these Elected officials at the polls, that we mean business.

We can not sit idly by and all what is happening today repeat itself. Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security cuts should be off the table. If we do not get out and educate folks the IMPORTANCE of their vote during General Elections, then we are as guilty as they are.

At this juncture, our basic need as AMERICANS are being annihilated slowly when you look at the attacks on our food, health and higher education. It was HOTTER than a mug yesterday. I received two calls for lunch while in route to Winter Garden, but I had to be there instead. This is very SERIOUS business to me. I could have chosen a nice leisurely lunch and discuss the problems we faced. But I had to get down in the trenches. Heck, they're not down sizing my Food Stamps, Medicaid, Medicare, I never got any of it - EVER. I know there are people that does have a need; I represent those folks.

We have huge hurdles to cross. Another hurdle is this gerrymandering issues. It has crippled a lot of our once mostly Democratic demographics. For those that aren't quite sure what gerrymandering is, it is a mapped out location that gives an advantage or disadvantage to a particular party during an election. More Commonly, "a legalized way to cheat."

On yesterday one person at a rally raised a very good point. He said "he's a Republican on paper, allowing him to vote as a Republican once he's in the poll booth he votes in favor of Democratic opponents. He brought it up in today's League of Women Voters meeting. We learned that the Republicans have been doing it for eons. You learn something everyday. We all must get involved to save ourselves.
